Kids love to get wet. So with that in mind, children’s museum Port Discovery created a new attraction that teaches the power and the properties of water as well as its awesome play potential.

At the center of Wonders of Water, a stream table, complete with a rain cloud above a mini mountain, demonstrates the water cycle. The “Will It Float?” tank with an array of test subjects like balls and kitchen utensils—a much better outlet for experimentation than, say, the toilet and mommy’s cell phone. Kids become little pipe fitters in “Plumbers Park” by moving water through plastic tubes from one point to another (that terminal point inevitably being their shoes).

The children’s museum provides protective gear like raincoats and crocs, but kids will get wet. In fact, it’s a sure bet that some will be soaked. For that reason, a wall of blow dryers flanks the exit.

However, with three more levels to explore, some may be too impatient to wait for the dryers to do their work. Knowing that, some parents bring a change of clothes, just in case.
